Video conferencing solutions provider Tandberg has announced the launch of a new codec.
The company has added the codec C40 to its C-Series platform to improve the scale of high-definition video deployments and broaden access to conferencing solutions from any meeting space.

Ira Weinstein, analyst and partner at Wainhouse Research, said the codec will allow firms to pursue a "tiered approach" to video conferencing.
He added: "The C40 fits nicely into this approach by offering an affordable standards-compliant solution that can be integrated into any conference room or meeting space and increase accessibility to existing suites and endpoints."
Fredrik Halvorsen, chief executive officer of Tandberg, said C40 would give customers "the highest quality experience possible".

Earlier this week, Tandberg announced that it has successfully linked one of its solutions to a product from a rival company.
The company demonstrated interoperability between its own Telepresence system and the Cisco CTS 3000.
