The invention of smartphones and cloud servers makes business connectivity easier, as workers do not need their PC to work, one expert stated.
David Pratt, chief operating officer at IT firm ThinkGrid, said the development of cloud computing allows businesspeople to access their data and information without being "tied to applications or your PC", thus boosting business connectivity.

The expert suggested this changes the traditional view of people being attached to their laptop and means people are not tied to the operating system.
"It's about getting to the information and sharing information," Mr Pratt added, saying: "It really opens up the collaboration side of things and enables you access and [to] share your data and information."
He said sharing documents is another tool on smartphones which boosts business connectivity.

The expert's comments follow research from the International Data Corporation, which said that expansion into the cloud will accelerate during the recession, as businesses look to reduce costs.
