Radvision makes video conferencing acquisition

Unified communications provider Radvision has announced it is to acquire a video conferencing technology solutions manufacturer.

The company is set to take over selected assets of the Aethra group of firms, including intellectual property and technology related to high definition video endpoint systems.

  • Radvision is set to pay €7 million (£6.1 million) for the assets, while the deal is set to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2010.

    Boaz Raviv, chief executive officer of Radvision, said the deal represented an "extraordinary opportunity" for the company to extend its product portfolio.

    He added: "Many of our customers and partners have urged us to provide them with a more complete video solution consistent with our technology-leading network infrastructure and our price-value advantage."
