Handheld computer manufacturer Psion has agreed a deal which will see some of its mobile working equipment resold by communications giant BT Global Services.

Under the terms of agreement, BT will sell Psion's range of rugged mobile computer systems on to its customers in the UK, Germany and France, although the contract may be extended into other markets.

John Conoley, chief executive of Psion, said that no company fully understands the value of mobile working strategies better than BT, expressing hope that the firms would enjoy a "long and successful relationship".

"Their customers are themselves leaders in their field and among the biggest in the world," he explained.

"It opens up some extremely exciting mutual business opportunities and we very much look forward to growing the business together."

20:20 Mobile recently agreed a deal with Mobilise-IT which will see the former distribute the plug-and-play Bayalink Liberty USB device, which can be used to virtualise the functions of a BlackBerry on any desktop.
