Video conferencing solutions provider Polycom has worked with computing giant IBM on a new product, it has emerged.
The company has confirmed plans to showcase its new home telepresence solution at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which kicks off today (January 7th) in Las Vegas.

Speculation has been raised over IBM's involvement in the new system after it was confirmed the demonstration of it will take place in the company's meeting space at the trade event.
In a statement, Polycom said the new solution would "enable consumers to visit with friends and family across around the globe and seamlessly integrate with company video and telepresence networks".
He added that the system will support full-size high-definition video services.

Earlier this week, Panasonic confirmed it is to unveil its HD Visual Communications System, which is compatible with a 50-inch full high-definition Viera plasma TV, at the CES.
The system uses H.264 video compression technology to provide high-quality video over less bandwidth.
