Communications giant BT has announced it is partnering with video solutions provider Polycom to create new videoconferencing services.
The companies have revealed they intend to combine their respective managed network services and video communications solutions to create innovations that enable collaboration for companies of all sizes.
It is believed that the first set of offerings created through the collaboration will be available by the end of the year.
Aaron McCormack, chief executive officer of BT Conferencing, said both firms have "the unique ability to provide our customers with the unified conferencing solutions that they require".
He added: "I am pleased with our partnership and the significant potential revenue stream it will represent for both BT and Polycom."
Norwegian computing firm Tandberg recently announced the launch of a new solution designed to make it easier for businesses to integrate videoconferencing facilities into their operations.
It is believed the new system, which is based on the Tandberg Management Suite, will reduce the time it takes to set up individual devices across large sites.
