Businesspeople who stay at Marriott hotels will soon be able to make use of video conferencing studios which are being introduced across the chain's properties.

The hotel giant has revealed that its first GoThere Virtual Meetings studios have been introduced at its New York Marriott East Side Hotel and Bethesda North Marriott Hotel near Washington.

AT&T is behind the telepresence solution, while the set-up also makes use of equipment from Cisco.

David Marriott, chief operations officer of the Americas Eastern Region for Marriott International, said the solutions will offer "our customers a new way to hold more productive, collaborative meetings linking locations around the world, and open up new revenue opportunities for our company and our hotels".

He added that the company is "proud" to be working with AT&T and Cisco.

Earlier this week, Cisco confirmed it is launching a new standard which will help to boost collaboration between video conferencing companies.
