A new tool designed to improve the mobile working efforts of BlackBerry users is to be distributed by European firm 20:20 Mobile, it has been announced.

The firm has agreed a deal with Mobilise-IT to rollout the plug-and-play Bayalink Liberty USB device, which can virtualise the functions of a BlackBerry on any desktop, to its clients.

  • Featuring Bluetooth connectivity, the device offers no other digital footprint and can be used in conjunction with existing applications on desktops.
James Browning, managing director of 20:20 Mobile, said the device is likely to be popular with remote workers.

He added: "Working together 20:20 and Mobilise-IT have already had significant interest from both large enterprise organisations and also government agencies who recognise the value of mobile working as well as the secure functionality of the device."

Nick Keene, the manager of Citrix Systems' South African operations, recently told Times Live that offering remote working can boost the productivity of employees.
