Marketing hype surrounding megabits per second is causing businesses problems.
ISPs have unfortunately educated the consumer into believing that his data will actually travel as XMbps when there could be nothing further from the truth. Unfortunately educating the customer otherwise does not increase sales.
A more worrying issue at the heart of this discussion is that the ISPs themselves either do not understand the mechanics of how data moves through the Internet or they do not wish to broadcast the realities of the mechanics.
